When in Austin

My sister came to town this past week, hence the lack of posts lately, my apologies. Today is the first chance I've had to update the blog so Jack and I decided to bring our computers down to Jo's this morning to work and enjoy the 75 degree weather outdoors with coffee and tacos in hand. Right now I am writing this post from the outdoor coffee bar on South Congress in my shorts and t-shirt. Aren't you jealous?

Now back to my sister's visit. I can’t begin to describe to you how wonderful it was to have family in town for a few days. I used to think of myself as adventurous, I imagined my early adult life to be filled with lots of traveling and late nights exploring the town and meeting new people but the older I get the more I am finding I am not that person. I am a homebody. I love my family. I love being close to my family. I miss them every day and yet, I don’t fully realize how much I miss them until we meet again. So, all that to say, I SO enjoyed having my sister here in Austin. She is always a breath of fresh air and her visit was just what I needed to rejuvenate the soul and keep me pushing forward at work.

Our adventures took us to Ramen Tatsu-ya, Austin Beerworks, Banger's Sausage House, San Marcos Outlets, the ABGB (Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co.), the Greenbelt, Maximum Spa for pedicures, a longer than expected tour of Central Market, SOCO, and of course, Elizabeth St. Cafe. Yes, I realize most of these stops involve food and drinking but, when in Austin, do as the Austinites do, right?

I'll be posting more information and photos from our explorations later this week. For now, I'm going to sign off and enjoy the sunshine this beautiful Sunday morning.

From Austin, With Love
